this song was recorded all with acoustic instruments. My two acoustic guitars, a baritone ukulele, an egg shaker and a little conga drum Natalia got me as a present when she went to Puerto Rico. Oh yeah, you can also hear me shaking a pill bottle. (As pictured in the slideshow) I only added some distortion and effects to make the guitars sound like synths for the choruses and you know, that fuzzed-out electric guitar-sounding lead.

This was actually featured on Smashing Pumpkins.com for a while when they “reunited” for that love-it-or-hate-it Zeitgeist album. I am guessing billy watched it or picked it himself. Because it was prominently featured on their main page, it was my first youtube video to break 6,000 hits. Actually, at the time, I think it was my first video to even break 1,000 hits. - J

Today (the JSE’s first rehearsal)

We were invited to play an “open studio” which was really a glorified house party in Park Slope. Since we were headlining with our friends in Heroes of the Open End who often play a lot of covers we decided to play out some new covers we learned just for the gig.

They covered Guns and Roses and Green Day and we covered Smashing Pumpkins and Filter… I’m sure- oh yeah! We covered Smells like teen spirit too! ha! Good times.
